Bodega Pumalek was built in 2010 on National Route 40, km 36, in Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo. It boasts a producing capacity of 160,000 liters distributed in stainless steel tanks.
The building is arranged in four large rooms, each of them fully equipped and neatly organized to ensure a meticulous and detailed winemaking process.
The first one, the Fermentation and Aging Room, is 45 m2. It houses 19 stainless steel tanks of various capacity ranging from 1,000, 2,000, 2,500, 5,000, 8,000, 15,000 to 18,000 liters with the objective of making different quantities of wine according to the line. It is in these tanks where the storing and aging processes take place. Only some wines age in third-use-oak barrels which allows a micro-aeration granting flavors and aromas that are not invasive, and preserve the typical characteristics and qualities of the varietal. This way, Pumalek obtains from this process a genuine product without altering the wine’s nature and personality.
The Finished Product Warehouse is 290 m2 and can store approximately 180,000 labeled bottles in cases. This room is equipped with a cooling system that maintains wine temperature at 16°C-18°C.
Next to the warehouse, there is the Cold Chamber, aimed at lowering the temperature of grapes to 8°C/10°C before fermentation.
The old adobe house in the estate is undergoing changes in structure and function. It will soon become the Tasting and Sales Room.
